Cell Phones and Bees

The dramatic and alarming reduction in the bee population has been much remarked upon. Now comes news that cell phones may be to blame. Can this be true?

Actually a more viable theory going around is that genetically modified (GM) crops are the root cause.

It was also said that, "if all bees go extinct, humans will only have four years to live."

Talked with a "beekeeper" at work today, and he doesn't buy the cell phone theory either. He thinks there is some pesticide that is causing the bees to die.

Is it better that pesticides are killing off the bees? ib

It is if it can be narrowed down to a specific pesticide. Much easier to remedy since cell phones and GM crops aren't going away.

Well, I hope your friend is right, Alex, because that would be a lot less overwhelming to deal with! :(
