Sopranos and Holstens
This is Tony Soprano country. Location sightings are routine; we're used to it. Now it seems they want to film the historic final episode at Holsten's, everybody's favorite old-time ice cream parlor. Permission had been granted, but was then rescinded, bowing to pressure from an Italian-American group that feels the show is derogatory. Now there's a counter-movement afoot. Who will prevail?
The bigger question: will they ever start making my favorite pineapple ice cream again? See how it's crossed out there? It's been like that for twenty years!
Update: CNN reports that the filming will be permitted. Locals are now wondering what will happen in the final scene. Will Tony be done in by a hot fudge sundae?

It might be time to give up the fight. Although, the fact that they have not made the effort to open up the glass and remove Pineapple from the list does give one false hope. Their coffee ice cream is the best ever. -IB
I do inquire about the pineapple whenever I go in, but I don't see that it's helping any.
Maybe we can use the Sopranos debate to bring back the Pineapple Ice Cream...there must be some creative way to add this into the negotiation. Surely the staff at HBO would like to enjoy some delicious pineapple ice cream if they are filming there.... And if they don't allow the filming of the Sopranos, the LEAST they could do is bring back the pineapple ice cream the local community... they've been depriving us for years!
